Parent / Child Special - I apologize if you read this, find out we’ve been doing it for 12 years, and wonder how you didn’t know. Every night of the week, beginning at 5:30pm we have the Parent / Child Special as a junior golf discount promotion. For a TOTAL of $12, you and your child (age 17 or younger) can take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy the Links. Have more than one child, we will just charge an additional $6 per child. Evenings here behind the leagues, or after weekend twilight are quiet and beautiful. Use this as another great opportunity to educate your child about this great game. Cart fees are additional, but are not mandatory.
Family Range Days
* Family Can Hit Unlimited Practice Balls
* Family Will Receive Pizza & Pitcher of Soda In Crosswind Grille
In an effort to promote the game, get exposure for RSPGL, make golf more affordable for families, and in an effort to get both adults and children engaged in that sweet sensation of hitting the ball, we have created a new program for Saturday and Sunday afternoons named FAMILY RANGE DAYS.
Beginning at 2:00pm on both Saturday and Sundays and running until practice range closes that evening, parents or grandparents can bring out children under the age of 14 and learn / practice as a FAMILY. Here is how it works:
New Program For 2017 To Replace The "Family Golf Course"
I have more than 75 sets of junior clubs in varying sizes all with bags. Some of these sets will even be for sale if the golf bug bites hard. It is our goal to have our dedicated teaching staff and our volunteer instructors on the Practice Range helping you learn the game of golf.

Get Kids Teed Off - Beginning at 2:00pm on weekends and running until 5:30pm (when the Parent/Child rate kicks in) we encourage families to get their Kids Teed Off. Children 17 and under will receive a complimentary green fee when accompanied by one regular priced adult green fee. This can be for both 9 or 18 hole rounds. Cart fees will be additional for both, but are not mandatory. It is our hope that you will educate your child about rules, etiquette, pace of play and encourage the use of forward tees if an effort to achieve scoring barriers before moving back.
Little Linksters Junior Golf Program Little Linksters is a fun interactive approach to developing junior golfers and promoting golf as a lifestyle for young people. The objective is to develop core golfers who will continue to play socially or competitively, based on an individual’s desire.

In the Fall of 2014, I spent way too much time driving back and forth on the Practice Range picking up range balls. While I aimlessly drove, I thought about my wife, who doesn't really play golf, my little girls 5 & 8 that are just getting interested, the under utilized or under maximized practice range on weekend afternoons, the target greens that are already built, and the overall need to get families more interested in golf for the future success of places like Royal St. Patrick's Golf Links.
* Golf Links Can Provide FREE Clubs To Kids Who Do Not Have Them
How Do We Enjoy FAMILY RANGE DAY?
It's easy, just show up and say I want to do Family Range Day. Pay your $20 in the golf shop. Balls are available outside, clubs will be ready if needed, each family will receive their ticket for pizza and soda. I highly recommend eating out on the veranda deck, it's a spectacular way to finish a nice practice session.
Parents or Grandparents I encourage you to show a few basic etiquettes, but mostly be concerned for safety. Real balls and swinging clubs hurt or skull no matter how old you are.
There are many goals of FAMILY RANGE DAYS. Parents might see it as a great way to practice together. Grandparents might see it as a great way to tire the kids out. I see it as a great way to expose people to the facility including the restaurant, but more importantly getting people to fall in love with the game. We all love golf because of the way we feel when we hit a really solid shot. With so much clutter in life today, many kids might never have the opportunity to be interested in the game unless they get these kinds of riskless exposures.
