Family Range Days
In the Fall of 2014, Golf Course Owner Guy spent way too much time driving back and forth on the Practice Range picking up range balls. While I aimlessly drove, I thought about my wife, who doesn't really play golf, my little girls 5 & 8 that are just getting interested, the under utilized or under maximized practice range on weekend afternoons, the target greens that are already built, and the overall need to get families more interested in golf for the future success of places like Royal St. Patrick's Golf Links.
In an effort to promote the game, get exposure for RSPGL, make golf more affordable for families, and in an effort to get both adults and children engaged in that sweet sensation of hitting the ball, we have created a new program for Saturday and Sunday afternoons named FAMILY RANGE DAYS.
Beginning at 2:00pm on both Saturday and Sundays and running until practice range closes that evening, parents or grandparents can bring out children under the age of 14 and learn / practice as a FAMILY. Here is how it works:
For Just $25 Total
* Family Can Hit Unlimited Practice Balls
* Golf Links Can Provide FREE Clubs To Kids Who Do Not Have Them
* Family Will Receive Appetizer & Pitcher of Soda In Crosswind Grille
I have more than 50 sets of junior clubs in varying sizes all with bags. Some of these sets will even be for sale if the golf bug bites hard. It is our goal to have our dedicated teaching staff and our volunteer instructors on the Practice Range helping you learn the game of golf.
How Do We Enjoy FAMILY RANGE DAY?
It's easy, just show up and say I want to do Family Range Day. Pay your $25 in the golf shop. Balls are available outside, clubs will be ready if needed, each family will receive their ticket for appetizer and soda. I highly recommend eating out on the veranda deck, it's a spectacular way to finish a nice practice session.
Parents or Grandparents I encourage you to show a few basic etiquettes, but mostly be concerned for safety. Real balls and swinging clubs, hurt the skull no matter how old you are.
There are many goals of FAMILY RANGE DAYS. Parents might see it as a great way to practice together. Grandparents might see it as a great way to tire the kids out. I see it as a great way to expose people to the facility including the
restaurant, but more importantly getting people to fall in love with the game. We all love golf because of the way we feel when we hit a really solid shot. With so much clutter in life today, many kids might never have the opportunity to be interested in the game unless they get these kinds of riskless exposures.
